Mine Warfare Vessels in Hobart for Exercises
Four RAN Mine Warfare vessels and a Clearance Diving Team visited Hobart in October, 2009. US and NZ mine warfare personnel also took part. Minehunters Huon and Diamantina were joined by the auxilary minsweepers Wallaroo and Bandicoot for exercises in Storm Bay. Navy divers also examined the wreck of the Lake Illawarra which is still on the bottom of the Derwent beneath the Tasman Bridge.
